Ellagee It’s A Gas Gas Gas

Good morning readers!!  It’s a beautiful day here in South-Central Ontario.  It’s actually kinda warm, considering the temperatures we have had in the last week and a half!  AND Tyler is done harvest at work, so that means I get to see my new husband (hehe!) for more than a couple hours every night, including weekends.  They finished up late on Sunday and he was off with me yesterday.  We enjoyed the day together snuggled on the couch watching TV in our jammies all day.  That’s my kinda day!

I have the last polish I posted on Instagram for Indie Month August – Ellagee It’s A Gas Gas Gas.

This is 2 easy coats of It’s A Gas Gas Gas.  I got this polish in the Easter Mystery Box that Laura did earlier this year.  I think this is a favourite for me.  The colour is beautiful, and while the gold glitters all stick to the bottom of the bottle and didn’t really transfer to the nail, I don’t really mind.  I will have to see if I can get them dug out for when I use it next time.  I just checked and the polish is still available in her online shop.  Her swatch picture in the listing is quite a bit lighter than the colour of my actual bottle of polish.  Make sure to follow her on Facebook and Instagram too!

Different Dimension Horde

Happy Monday all!  I’m chilling in my jammies, drinking a cup of tea, and watching Once Upon a Time.  It’s quickly become one of my new favourite shows because I love all things Disney and fairy tales.  The thing I like the most is the twist they put on the fairy tales I grew up with.

Today I have for you another swatch from Indie Month August – Different Dimension Horde.

I got this polish a couple years ago, only because of the name.  Tyler plays World of Warcraft, so when I saw this, I knew I had to get it.  This polish is black jelly base with holo glitter and red and silver hex glitters.  It is very pretty, but was so hard to capture on camera.  Unfortunately this polish, and the rest of the World of Warcraft line has been discontinued, but you can check out the rest of Different Dimension’s creations on her online shop, and make sure to follow on Facebook and Instagram!

Polish Me Silly Color Me Gray

Good morning lovely readers!  It’s Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada, so I will be stuffing myself with turkey and all the fixins that go with it.  Yum yum yum!

Here is a swatch of Polish Me Silly Color Me Gray that I wore for one of the last few days of “Indie Month August” that I did with Tina.  Yup, that’s how long it’s been since I have posted on here …

This is 2 coats of Color Me Gray.  I’ll be honest, this is not my favourite polish.  There is something kinda .. juvenile about this … I think it’s the combination of the cement-gray base colour with the solid primary colours of the glitters, and that a top coat didn’t add much of a shine or smoothness (for me) to even everything out.  Polish Me Silly polishes can be purchased in their online shop, and you can follow them on Facebook and Instagram!

Life Update

Hello dear readers!  How many of you are still around and waiting for me to return??  I’m sure most of you gave up hope on me, and I’m sorry for that.

For the last year, Tyler and I have been working on planning our wedding, and we got married last Saturday, October 4.  Long story short, it was the most amazing day of my life, and while it was tiring I wish I could relive it over and over again.  It was just so perfect!

We had the rehearsal on the Friday night – we went over to the golf course to do a couple run-throughs of the ceremony and then went back to mom and dad’s for a homemade lasagna dinner.  The boys stayed there over night and the girls and I came back to our house to hang out and do mani-pedis.  I didn’t get my own done Friday night, so I did them Saturday.

On Saturday morning, the girls and I went back to the golf course for 9am to start getting our hair and makeup done.  While a couple of the other girls were getting all dolled up, my Matron of Honour and I went down to the reception room to decorate our arbour and set out the decorations.  We decided to have the ceremony inside because the temperatures were hovering just above freezing and they were calling for rain.

Let’s get to the photos, shall we?  These are just photos taken by guests, but I will try to do another update post with photos from the photographer when I get them 😀

Feel free to click on any of the pictures to see an enlarged version.

All in all, everything ran so perfectly and smoothly.  I cannot thank the golf course, the photographer, the bakery we got our cake from, the flower shop we got our flowers from, the Pastor, or our guests enough for making our day so special.

I also got a new engagement ring and wedding band set for the special occasion.  It’s so pretty and sparkly, I am constantly admiring it and letting the diamonds twinkle in the light 😉

So, that’s where my mind has been for the past year.  I hope to get back to posting on here more regularly again.  I am still posting on Instagram, so make sure to follow me there!  I will be updating the blog with the manis/swatches I have done recently.  They are what you have already seen on Instagram, but at least it’s somethin’, right??  I also have to recreate the mani I did for the wedding cause believe it or not .. I didn’t ACTUALLY get a picture of my nails on the big day…

Recap Aug 27

Howdie!  I know it’s been almost a month since I posted.  I hate to say it, but I will be so glad when this wedding planning stress is done and over with.  5.5 more weeks to go till the big day!  I still feel like there is so much left to do and not enough time.  I know I will get everything done, it just doesn’t feel like it right now.

Let’s get to the swatches from the past 3 weeks, shall we?

Weekly Recap Aug 8

Evening, folks!!  Sorry this post is so late.  I was at the dentist this morning for a cavity filling, polishing and candy-making this afternoon, and just got back from taking Owen and Lexi for a walk with Tyler.

Since last Friday, I have been working along with Tina and a few other girls on August is Indie Month untried polish challenge that Tina has set up.  She has set a different indie polish maker for each day of the month of August, but since I don’t have most of the ones listed on her list, I am just doing the ones I can on the assigned day and filling in the days with my other indie polishes.

Let’s get started, shall we?

The Great Polish Giveaway 2014

Hello loves!  I have a quick post for you today because I am stuck at work.  This is what happens when my parentals take a week’s holidays.  On a good note, it’s a long weekend here in Ontario, so I get to sleep in on Monday and only have a 3-day work week next week 😀

So, if you’ve been following the polish world for the last few weeks, Nail Polish Canada has been working on a HUGE Giveaway and they have reached out to lots of bloggers, myself included, to make up a massive prize pack for one lucky winner!  I himmed and hawed about what to include, and finally decided on a polish that had been on my wishlist forever and I received recently from Amber (she truly is the best US mule anyone could ask for!).

a England – Galahad

Now, I know I have swatched this before, but I thought I would reswatch it because it wasn’t the best lighting the first time.  This is 2 super easy coats of Galahad, a dusty teal creme polish.  This is the only a England polish I own, and while it has great application, honestly, I don’t think it’s any different than any other brand.  I’ll probably get shot for that comment, but that’s my own honest opinion.  Anywho, I had been wanting this polish ever since I came across it on another blog because of the name.  In my favourite book series, the In Death series by J.D. Robb – you must read it!, the main character’s husband (filthy rich, handsome and Irish … every woman’s dream man) has a cat named Galahad.  I’m not into Irish folklore, though I am 100% Irish, so I don’t recall the significance behind the name, but as soon as I figured out where I knew the name from this polish jumped on my wishlist.  It’s just a bonus that it’s a gorgeous shade!  I’m rambling, sorry!  If you need a dusty teal in your life, I highly recommend this shade for you.

Onto the giveaway!
